Born about 1580 in Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, Manche, Lower Normandy, France, Guillaume is thought to have died prior to April 30, 1632 in New Amsterdam, New Netherland Colony,

We are fortunate to know the names of Guillame's parents. His mother was Jeanne de la Vigne, and his father was Jean de la Vigne. He may have had a brother named Guleyn; however, Guleyn may only have been another appearance of Guillame himself in records using that name, instead.

Guillame was married to Adrienne Cuvellier in 1608 in St Waast-La-Haut, Vallenciennes, Nord, France. Their children were
Maria de la Vigne
Christina Guleyne Vigne
Rachel Vigne
Abraham Vigne, (twin of Sara)
Sara Vigne, (twin of Abraham) and 3 others

Early in the history of the New Netherland colony, Guillame Vigne operated a trading post in Manhattan.
